Soil Mixes
Topsoil is a medium for root development and planting growth.
Color may vary depending upon the original source of our sandy loam/loam soil.
FERTILIZATION IS RECOMMENDED for all soil mixes.
NOTE: Not all product mixes are available to view in bins at satellite yards.

Click to Zoom	SUPREME MIX: Loam soil, compost, and sand. Superb for seeding lawns, sod, planting beds, hydro seeding and planting mounts.
	2-WAY TOPSOIL: Loam soil mixed with compost and processed through a 1/2” screen. All-purpose soil with slightly higher soil content.
(Click to Zoom)	3-WAY TOPSOIL: Loam soil, peat, and compost processed through a 1/2” screen. Excellent for seeding lawns, sod, flower beds, and vegetable gardens.
	5-WAY TOPSOIL: Loam soil, compost, garden mulch, peat, and sawdust processed through a 5/8” screen. This is a coarser mix of materials exceptional for planting beds or a base for sod. Not recommended for planting grass seed, vegetables, or flowers from seed.
(Click to Zoom)	WINTER MIX: Loam soil, compost, and sand processed through a 1/2” screen. Designed for wet areas, okay for sod and seed. Not recommended for home gardens, Very heavy. Alternative: Supreme Mix.
	HALF-AND-HALF: 1/2 Bank sand – 1/2 Pacific Garden Mulch. High draining growing medium for lawns and landscape areas requiring greater drainage.
	40/60: (Commercial Sales) 40% Pacific Garden Mulch – 60% washed sand. Higher draining growing medium. Designed for use as a soil for lawns or as a soil amendment. For product availability, contact Commercial Sales.

	GROWERS DESIGN MIX: (Commercial Sales) Designed for the 4” and 1 gallon grower. Fine bark, comp mulch, peat, pumice, and sand. Not designed or recommended for starting seeds. For product availability, contact Commercial Sales.
	STANDARD NURSERYMEN'S MIX: (Commercial Sales) For potting up shade and flowering trees and container growing of woody shrubs. Consists of comp mulch, fine bark, and sand. For product availability, contact Commercial Sales.

(Click to Zoom)	FINE BARK: Fir/Hemlock bark. 1” minus particle size. To be used as a top dressing for fine manicured look or as a soil amendment.
Click to Zoom	MEDIUM/FINE BARK: Fir/Hemlock bark. 3” minus particle size. To be used as a top dressing for a more natural look or as a soil amendment.
Click to Zoom	DARK FINE MULCH: Fine Wood Chip Mulch, aged for a dark color. Recycled from trees, then screened to a small size, Dark Fine Mulch is a dark finish product with minimal nutrient content. Should be used as a topdress similar to Bark.
Click to Zoom	PACIFIC GARDEN MULCH: A RECYCLED PRODUCT. A dark composted yard and garden waste that is very high in fertile nutrient elements, processed through a 1/2” screen. Excellent soil amendment or top dressing. Will also help to retain moisture.
Click to Zoom	SCREENED COMP MULCH: Composted sawdust and cow/steer manure processed through 1/2” screen. Initially dark in color lightens to a light brown color. Excellent as a top dressing or soil amendment. Very high in nutrient elements and will assist in water retention.
Click to Zoom	NUTRIENT MULCH: Composted chicken, horse and cow/steer manure processed through 1/2” screen. Due to the naturally high sand content of chicken manure this product has the consistency of soil. Excellent as a soil amendment used to add high levels of nutrients to the soil and increase water retention abilities. Not recommended as a top dressing because of it’s soil like appearance.
Click to Zoom	CEDAR CHIPS: 2 1/2” cedar chips used as a ground cover in play areas, under swing sets, etc. Cedar retards the growth of vegetation. Helpful in dog runs to control fleas.

Rock and Sand

	1/4" MINUS CRUSHED: Finely crushed rock for pathways and base material under flagstone, pavers or stepping stone.
Click to Zoom	5/8" MINUS CRUSHED: Crushed rock screened to 5/8” and less. Good as a base material for pathways or driveway toppings. Does contain fines.
	1-1/4" CRUSHED: Crushed rock screened to 1-1/4” and less . Good as a sub base for French drains. Does contain fines.
Click to Zoom	PEA GRAVEL: 3/8” round gravel, the size of peas. Will not compact or “set up”. For drainage and decorative areas.
	DRAIN ROCK: 1 ½” round gravel for drainage or decorative areas. 7/8” drain available at select locations.
	COBBLE ROCK: Unwashed round rock. Can be dirty. Spray with hose after placement to wash dust into spaces between rocks for a clean appearance. Used for decorative areas. Size of rock varies from 3” – 8”.

Click to Zoom	BLEND/BUILDERS SAND: Washed sand which has multiple uses when a clean, dirt free sand is desired.
	PIT RUN: (Commercial Sales) All sand and gravel pits carry this material for use as a backfill. May be predominantly sandy and gravely. Not suitable as a planting medium. For product availability, contact Commercial Sales.

Peat Moss

Click to Zoom	CANADIAN PEAT: Canadian sphagnum peat is compressed and sold in 3.8 cubic ft. bales. Once the bale is opened the loose peat doubles in volume. Used in soil mixes, areas where seed is going to be planted to retain moisture.
	SNOHOMISH SCREENED SEDGE PEAT: Our own peat, loose, sold in bulk, not in bags or bales. Coarser than Sphagnum peat, but used for the same purposes. Primarily used in our own soil mixes.

PTS Recycled Rock
PTS recycled rock contains rock from soil mixes, crushed concrete, asphalt, and brick.
Priced less than aggregate products. May contain up to 5% wood matter.

	PTS 5/8" MINUS: PTS recycled rock contains rock from soil mixes, crushed concrete, asphalt, and brick. May contain up to 5% wood matter. Many colors of crushed rock and screened to 5/8” and less. Good as a sub base for retaining walls/rookeries. Contains broken and whole rocks, also small pieces of wood. Priced less than 5/8” Minus Aggregate.

Many colors of crushed rock and screened to 1-1/4” and less. Good as a sub base for retaining walls/rockeries. Contains broken and whole rocks, also small pieces of wood. Does contain fines. 	PTS 7/8" DRAIN: PTS recycled rock is obtained from soil mixes. May contain up to 5% wood matter. Many colors of rock screened to 7/8”. Used for drainage. Priced less than washed drain rock.
	PTS 2" - 4": PTS recycled rock contains rock from soil mixes, crushed concrete, asphalt, and brick. May contain up to 5% wood matter. Many colors of crushed rock and screened to 2” – 4”. Used as a road building material and holds up better than crushed rock in wet, heavy travel areas. May be specified as a base layer with crushed rock on top of it.
	PTS 2" DRAIN: PTS recycled rock is obtained from soil mixes. May contain up to 5% wood matter. Many colors of rock screened 7/8” to 2”. Used for drainage. Priced less than washed drain rock.

Sawdust / Hog Fuel

Click to Zoom	ANIMAL FRIENDLY HOGFUEL: Ground brush/stump of Fir, Hemlock, Pine, and Alder chips, 3” – 5”. Excellent use for covering wet areas, top-dressing and erosion control. Not considered shavings.
	CONSTRUCTION HOGFUEL: 1/2” – 6”, no minus. Ground lumber/pallets; may contain metal/nails. Great for road base material and muddy areas. Not recommended for use with livestock.
